Clifford Lyle Carr, known affectionately as Cliff, passed away on July 16, 2024, at the age of 76 in Riverside, California. Born on February 12, 1948, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Cliff was the youngest of twelve children and one of three sets of twins, sharing this special bond with his sister Rita.
Cliff was raised in a Baptist Children's home for fourteen years, a formative experience that shaped his strong Christian faith. At 18, he moved to California, where he married Sandra and raised two children, Mark and Marla. Throughout his life, Cliff was known for his hardworking and dedicated nature, particularly noted during his career as a maintenance mechanic where he achieved an impressive 25 years of perfect attendance.
His commitment to his family was unwavering. Cliff is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; his children, Mark (Melissa) and Marla (Izzy); his grandchildren, Kassandra, Addalyn, Hailey, and Jacob; and his great-grandchildren, Kayla, Isabelle, Selina, and Ava. He also leaves behind his siblings, Dale (Inge), Jesse, and Jane (Dale), along with sisters-in-laws, Debbie Taber and Rhonda Rogers (Frank). Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Nettie; his siblings, Reba, Edward, Bob, Andy, Walter, Sammy, Jean, and his twin sister, Rita.
Cliff graduated from Portales High School and carried the values of hard work and community from his schooling days into every aspect of his life. His faith played a central role, and he was a devoted Christian who embraced his beliefs with deep conviction.
The family will gather to honor and remember Cliff's life at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Mortuary located at 11500 Arlington Avenue, Riverside, California. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 30, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. The funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, July 31, at 9:00 am, followed by a graveside committal from 10:00 to 10:30 am.
Cliff Carr's life was marked by his dedication to his family, his career, and his faith. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
