RIVERSIDE CURTIS F. WINGARD Curtis passed away on 03/23/2010 at the age of 81 at Riverside Community Hospital. Curtis was born on 10/15/28 in Minneaspolis, Minnesota to Arthur and Emma Ruud Wingard (deceased). He received his BA degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota in 1950 and his MSW from the University of Pittsburgh in 1955. He served in the US Army as a Corporal in the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. He retired in 1991 as a Program Manager from the Inland Counties Regional Center. He served over 36 years in the field he loved of Social Services. Curtis is survived by his devoted, beloved wife of 56 years, Jean Nelson Wingard. Both long time residents of Riverside for over 45 years. His love of photography has contributed to many inspiring photos as well as a personal booklet prepared for Friends of the Mission Inn where he and Jean were members of the board. They are both very passionate for the Arts and were part of many events which the City of Riverside is known for. He is survived by his beloved son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Carri Wingard; 3 grandchildren, Brandon, Garrett and Nicholas; brothers, John (Clarine) Wingard and Clark (Marilyn) Wingard of MN; sisters, Effie McCarthy of MO and Celia McHugh of MN; brother and sister-in-law, Stu and Arlene Nelson of Palos Verdes and many nephew, nieces and friends. His life will be honored with a visitation on Tues., 3/30 from 5-8pm and a funeral service on Wed., 3/31 at 11am, both at Acheson & Graham Memorial Chapel in Riverside. Interment will follow at the Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area #5. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Friends of the Mission Inn or to a charity of your choice.
