Daniel Frank DeRenzo
October 25, 1941 – September 2, 2019
Dan DeRenzo was born in New Rochelle, New York to Frank and Edith DeRenzo. His family moved to Riverside, California in 1954 and Dan graduated from Ramona High School in 1960.
Dan worked at Rite Way Bicycle Repair Shop and Delia's Grinders in 1957-1960. He was also a union plumber and worked in mobile home fabrication prior to his military service in the Army in Vietnam from 1966-1968. He joined the Riverside Fire Department in September of 1969 and loved everyday he was blessed to serve. During "off" days he worked laying block and pouring concrete. He reluctantly retired in 2003.
Dan's passion was working, but he also found time to go camping and fishing and tinker with cars. He had a great love for friends and family and will be greatly missed by wife Patti, Son Bill, Step Daughter Carrie and five Grandsons. He is also survived by Sister Betty, Brothers Ray and Ken and many Nieces and Nephews.
A visitation will be held at Acheson and Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary, 7944 Magnolia Ave., Riverside, CA 92504 on Sunday, Sept. 15th between 4:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am the following day, Monday Sept. 16th at The Grove Community Church, 19900 Grove Community Dr., Riverside, CA. 92508 with reception immediately following. A private burial will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to Riverside City Firefighters Foundation, P. O. Box 7817, Riverside, CA. 92513.

I attended the services for Dan today with great sadness in my heart. I worked with him many years on RFD and thought a lot of him. He seemed to always have a happy, positive outlook and worked very hard. A great fireman! My condolences to the family.
