David Clive Andersen passed away Friday evening at the age of 90. He was born on
January 9, 1930 in Overton, Nevada, to Alvin Glen and Agnes Campbell Clive
Andersen.
He served in the army during the Korean War and, while home in Overton on leave, met
his future bride, Jeanette Allan. They married on December 23, 1954 in the St. George
Temple in St. George, Utah.
David graduated from UCLA and BYU in Music and dedicated his life to teaching music.
He taught at high schools and junior highs, as well as at church. He conducted choirs,
orchestras and bands, and even put together music festivals at the Rose Bowl in
Pasadena, California.
David also spent 20 years working as a projectionist to help support his growing family.
Dave and his wife Jeanette welcomed nine children into their family, and have since
added sons- and daughters-in law, as well as many grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Dave said his greatest achievement in life was marrying Jeanette, and
he proved his devotion to her as he cared for her in the final years of her life.
David remarried in 2005, to Nancy Lee Wilson. They have been happily married for 15
years, taking care of each other, travelling and serving in the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-Day Saints.
David’s life was one of service. He served in the church, he served his neighbors and
community, and, most of all, he served his family.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy, children Blaine (Yolanda), Kathy (Jeffrey), David
(Joan), Debra (Richard), Glen (Barbara), Julia, Rebecca (Douglas) and DeEstie. He
was preceded in death by his mother and father, his two brothers, his wife Jeanette, his
son Michael Clive Andersen, and his granddaughter, Dalyn LaPreal Andersen.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints meeting house, 7526 Alder Avenue, Fontana,
California. There will be a viewing preceding the funeral at 9:30 am-10:30 am.
Internment will be at 11:00 am at Pioneer Hill Memorial Cemetery in Overton, Nevada.
