

David Arthur Crawford was born April 27, 1940 in Lansing, MI to Edrena Gertrude Kimmons and Merlin Otis Boone. He was later adopted by his stepfather, Barton Ellis Crawford and he took his surname. David attended high school at McCamey High School in McCamey, TX and graduated in 1958. He enlisted in the Navy and served his country from 1958-1962. He served with Squadron VA-145 and he was aboard the USS Lexington CVA-16 and the USS Oriskany CVA-34. He joined the active reserves from 1962-1965. He married Amber Leota Seale on March 14, 1963 and they had 5 children. He attended Texas A&M, Cal Poly Pomona and Citrus College and worked at Western Electric Company. He later was employed at General Telephone where he was a central office foreman. He transferred to their CA office in 1981.
David spent 26 years with GTE and retired in 1991. He then moved to Vashon Island, WA in 1996 where he worked for Centurytel. He retired and relocated in 2006 to Topock, AZ where he worked at the Riverside Casino in Laughlin, NV in the maintenance dept. David enjoyed working on his home, playing with his dog Bailey, watching Netflix and YouTube, yoga, astronomy and visits from his 9 grandchildren. He enjoyed dining at Italian and Mexican restaurants, and loved a glass of red wine. He was strong in his Episcopalian faith.
He was married to the love of his life, Amber for 60 years. David “Grandpa C”, is survived by his wife and their children, Anthony Crawford (AZ), David Mitchell Crawford (AZ), Debra Munar (CA), Courtney Josa (CA), and Patrick Crawford (WA), his son-in-laws, Andre Munar and Carlos Josa and his grandchildren, Kelsie Morris and her husband Brady (AK), Kenny Ealy (OR), Miranda Allan (OR), Branden, Lauren and Ryan Munar (CA) and Caiden, Caileen and Carley Josa (CA) and 6 great-grandchildren, Micah, Bentley, Braxton and Bowen Morris (AK), Silas and Oliver Allen (OR), and his nieces Brandy Brown and Andrea Seale (CA), several cousins and other family members.
David passed away in Las Vegas, NV on May 13, 2023 at the age of 83, unexpectedly after complications from cancer treatment. A viewing will be held on June 7, 2023 from 4-8 p.m. at Pierce Bros. Crestlawn Mortuary, Riverside, CA. Funeral services will be held June 8, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at Pierce Bros. Crestlawn, Riverside, CA and a Committal service at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA on June 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at Pierce Bros. Crestlawn, Riverside, CA.
