Thank you for showing me so much love and kindness when I was a child. You didn't have to. And thank you for continuing that love throughout my entire life. I never felt like an outsider. You welcomed my husband into your family in the same way; we are very grateful. We will miss you every day.

Thank you for never making me feel like I wasn't part of the family and just as loved as your blood relatives. You and grandpa both went out if your way everyday to make me and my mom feel loved and welcome. I'm so glad I got to spend the last months with you at the house and i'm glad you are reunited together now.

Giulio and I spent our honeymoon with Aunt Charlene and Uncle Wayne in their home 38 years ago.  They bought Giulio his first pair of Levi jeans!  We have fond memories, lots of stories and laughter shared!  Even though we were on the other side of the country in Pennsylvania, they always kept in touch with us by phone, sending bandaged up stuffed animals for surgeries, cards for birthdays and anniversaries for us and our children, Dawn and Michael.  They never forgot!  Michael and his wife, Tracy visited Aunt Charlene last summer and were able to spend some time with her. Aunt Charlene and Uncle Wayne had found true love like my parents, Carol and Marvin Hardin , and were there for us when my parents died of terminal illness.  They always had laughter, kind words and wisdom to bestow.  The Hardin family has a legacy in those who shared their lives with us and have passed on.  I know they are all up in heaven together.. Uncle Wayne, Aunt Charlene, Mom & Dad (Carol & Marvin Hardin), Uncle Les Waltrip and all who have passed on. We love and miss you all and are truly blessed to have had you in our lives!

Mamma Dixie
You always greeted me with open arms and like I was part of your family. I will miss you dearly. I know I did not get to visit a lot however I did appreciate ever time I did get a chance to.  I am sure that you are with Ira again and at peace. Rest easy and know that your loved and missed here each and every day Sweet Mamma Dixie.

I will never forget all the fun and laughter when Mark and I would visit California.  You and Uncle Wayne always opened your house to us. Charlene has always been a central part of our family.  She was never just viewed as Wayne's wife, but as our sister,  and to my mother and Step father she was a daughter.  She was loved by all her nephews and nieces in our family.  She has always been there....it will seem so strange just as it does with Wayne, that she and Wayne are no longer there.  They were such a great couple together.  To me they were the type of married couple that everyone should be or should be fortunate to be.  A wonderful couple, wonderful parents, and wonderful family member to the whole family.  Charlene (Dixi) we are going to miss you.  I may not have seen you often since moving up to the bay area,  but you were always there.  We still kept in touch, We still came to visit and my girls loved visiting with you.  They have wonderful memories.   I loved getting your cards every year, you never forgot.   Your safe in the arms of your best friend again, Wayne, I feel better knowing you are together. Words cannot describe what you mean to me and how devastated I am that you are no longer with us. You and Gramps were truly a blessing in our lives. You took us on adventures and spent so much time with us. These are memories I will remember forever. I love you Grams. I love you so much. We made lots of memories over the years,going camping with our families,family get togethers and even high school,going to miss you Dixie Charlene Onita Hardin see I even knew you had two middle names,love you you'll always be in my heart.

I have so many wonderful memories of Aunt Charlene. Growing up close by we took family vacations together every year.  Aunt Charlene was full of life, love and happiness.  She was one amazing woman. She is with her soul mate again for eternity. I love you Aunt Charlene.  You will be greatly missed. You smile. , laughter and love will forever be in our hearts.  RIP  Dear Auntie

I have so many wonderful memories of Aunt Charlene, but the one that mostly comes to mind is the summer of 1964 my family and I went to visit her and Uncle Wayne. All of us kids was getting ready to go swimming in their pool. While I was changing into my swimsuit she peeked into the room for some reason but as soon as she saw me she told me to get dressed and to come into the kitchen. I thought that I was in trouble but didn't know why but I did as I was told to do. When I got to the kitchen she said that we was going shopping just her and I. She bought me my first bra it made me feel so grownup and special. That was the kind of aunt and person she was. I will miss her a lot, but I know that she is in heaven and reunited to all of out family members who passed before her. They are having a family reunion welcoming her to heaven. I worked with Dixie at rite aide for a short time, but within that time I so enjoyed everyday we worked together. She was a very kind and sweet person, she will be missed

I wish I could have been able to visit you more..I love and miss you great aunt Charlene...RIP
