EFFIE MAE KELLEY passed away peacefully at her home on January 9, 2015. She was born in Ironton, Ohio on May 1, 1937 to Curtis and Eva McFann. Mom was a country girl who moved from Ohio to Corona, California when she was 15. In 1959 she moved to Riverside where she spent the rest of her life as a baseball, football, dance, cheer, soldier and police officer Mom and Grandma. Mom was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Mark, and a sister Carolyn. Also by her beloved grandson Michael who passed in 2004. Mom was never quite the same after her "little Mike" passed. Mom temporarily leaves behind her sons Doug (Linda) and Mike (Shelly) of Riverside; grandchildren Jordan, Heather, Garrett, and Hannah, all of Riverside; brother David of Corona, and sister Janie of Talladega, Alabama. Mom also leaves behind several nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. She also leaves behind her husband Bud. Mom was a follower of her Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ and was baptized in the Ohio River in 1952. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Riverside and had many dear friends there. Mom's goal in life was taking care of her "two boys" and her "grand babies", making sure all were happy and content. She had a soft, gentle and forgiving heart like no other. Special love and thanks to First Baptist Church of Riverside, Delta Hospice and Mom's extended family at the Riverside Police Department, past and present. Services will be held on Friday, January 23 at 10am, First Baptist Church, 5500 Alessandro Blvd., Riverside.
