Forrest Wayne Adams

Forrest Wayne Adams, known warmly to family and friends as Wayne, passed away on September 17, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on November 12, 1959, in Long Beach, California, he was the son of Forrest (Curley) Monroe Adams and Doris Faye Lowery, who had moved to California from Missouri.

Wayne grew up as the third of four boys and shared his childhood with his brothers and his stepsister, Christine. His lifelong curiosity was evident from a very young age. While attending kindergarten in Hawaiian Gardens, California, he once arrived two hours late because he became completely captivated by a leaf floating in a puddle, prompting school staff to come looking for him.

His family later relocated to Anderson, Indiana, where Wayne’s adventurous spirit thrived. By day, he could be found skateboarding, rollerskating, or playing sports. By night, he cherished the late hours spent at the local racetrack alongside his father, mother, and brothers.

In adulthood, Wayne proudly worked on the railroad. It was during these years that he married the love of his life, Joyce, with whom he shared 46 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they welcomed their daughter Krista and son Justin. Life eventually brought Wayne and his family back to California, settling in Riverside, where their family became complete with the birth of their daughter Jessica.

Wayne dedicated 31 years of hard work and service to the MTA in Los Angeles. He was incredibly proud to lead his crew, and he considered many of his coworkers to be his true friends.

Outside of work, Wayne was a passionate fan of USC football, classic cars, and classic rock. He loved nothing more than firing up the barbecue for his family. He also held a deep compassion for others, frequently donating to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the ASPCA to protect animals who had no voice.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Forrest; his mother, Doris; his brothers, John and Jim; and his stepsister, Christine.

He is survived and deeply missed by his beloved wife, Joyce; his son, Justin; his daughters, Krista, Jessica, and their families, including four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his loyal and beloved dog, Sadie.

A service to celebrate Wayne's life will be held on October 1, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Crestlawn Memorial Park, located at 11500 Arlington Ave, Riverside, California 92505.
