Frank F. Martinez, 93, a lifelong resident of Riverside, CA passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 16, 2022 surrounded by his caring and loving family. He was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church.
Frank is survived by his beloved wife Lina, his daughter Ester (Steven) Sanchez, and his sons Clarence (Gloria) Martinez from Yuma AZ, Gary Martinez from Las Vegas NV and his sister Mary Rosales of Riverside. He was loved and respected by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Frank was preceded in death by his son Danny Martinez. Frank passed on the one year anniversary of Danny’s passing. He was also preceded by parents; Robert and Beatrice Martinez, brothers; John, George, Robert, Clarence Martinez and sisters; Minnie Trujillo, Rosalie Lozano and Pauline Chavez.
His life journey blessed Frank with 8 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren and he was looking forward to the birth of 2 more great-great grandchildren. He was also blessed with a number of step grandchildren whom he loved as his own.
Frank had a strong work ethic and was a truck driver for Krinard/Blue Banner Citrus Co. in Riverside for 18 years. He then worked as a foundry worker for Griffin Wheel Company in Colton for 25 years. He retired in 1994 after nine years as a custodian with the Alvord Unified School District.
Frank enjoyed the outdoors, working with his hands, creating welding and construction projects, but his joy was spending time with his wife and family. He enjoyed baseball and sponsored a family team, Los Primos baseball team and was an avid Angel fan.
Frank and Lina were married for 74 years and nine months and would have celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary in April. He was a devoted husband and caring father. He had a genuine concern for others and helped all in need. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His journey as he would say was “good and plenty.”
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 4:00 PM at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary, 7944 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside CA 92504.
Interment on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park, 11500 Arlington Ave, Riverside CA 92505.
