Gilbert Cortez. Age 46 Passed away on March 25, 2013 in San Diego, California. He was born in Santa Ana, California he lived most of his life in Corona and the last 13 in Easvale, California. Gilbert was a K-9 handler for the California Correctional Peace Officers Association for 2 years and had worked for the department for a total of 23 years. He was a loving husband and caring father. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, hunting, softball, baseball, ping pong and loved to grill, cross word puzzles, sudoko, playing poker on his cell phone and enjoying family gatherings. Gilbert is survived by his wife Nohema Cortez; daughter Marisa L. Cortez; son Andres G. Cortez; parents Salud and Esperanza Cortez; sisters Irma Cortes, Martha Ruiz and Sandra Ruiz; brother Saul Cortez. He was preceded in death by his sister Ortensia Sandoval.
