I met Gilbert when I returned from Okinawa, in1979, he always made me laugh, we would sit on his parents back porch and talk, for hours. When I returned from Okinawa a second time, my children and I stayed with Janice and Gilbert at their apartment. Janice and I would laugh because if he went to the store to pick up orange juice, it would take forever! He always had a story about someone he met, or something stopped traffic. He was always so caring. He loved to dress up like Santa, he had such a big heart. I am so sorry for your loss Janice. Love you always,

Gilbert Gonzales

I first met Gilbert at Tate Cadillac in the late 70s. He went by the nickname “Brillo” back then because his hair was so curly. He was a car jockey when he started and quickly moved up to technician’s helper then to full time technician. I always knew he would go far and he did when he became the Service Manager at M. K. Smith Chevrolet. I will always remember Gilbert as someone who would always help you if he could and you didn’t need to ask. He had very high integrity and his family meant everything to him. I remember when he spoke at my Dad’s funeral and said my Dad told him to take care of his family and he sure did. He had a very gentle heart and was a very caring person to all.

Janice and family,

Xenia and I offer you our deepest condolences on your loss. We will always admire what a great Father and Family man Gilbert was. I know no words can bring you comfort during this difficult time but know that he was an admired and respected gentleman in our family and community and he will be missed.
I will miss those Casino nights with Gilbert for sure! We will always cherish those wonderful memories we shared together, (that guy loved to gamble, well I guess birds of a feather, right?)
I always think that its in those memories (the funny ones mostly) that our loved ones leave us with that help us heal. If there is anything we can do for you, know we are here with you in any way we can to help.

God Bless,

Jaime and Xenia Pimentel
