

Glenn Dale Maness of Moreno Valley, California, passed away at Kindred Hospital in Perris, California, May 19, 2026. Glenn was born March 9, 1939 to Glenn Maness and Helen Maness in Bertrand, Missouri. The family, including a younger brother, Howard Maness, moved to Sunnymead, California, when Glenn was 4 years of age. With the exception of 2 years in Atwater and Martinez, Glenn resided in Moreno Valley (formerly Sunnymead) for the rest of his life. He graduated from Poly High School in 1957 and later earned an A.A. Degree in education from Riverside Community College.
Glenn was visiting friends in Porterville, California, when he met the girl next door, Patricia Eldonna Matlock. They were married November 16, 1963, for 63 years. They welcomed home their son, Christopher Glenn Maness, in 1973.
Glenn's major employment years included working as a certified auto mechanic at Warren-Anderson Ford Dealership and Mission Ford Dealership for 11 years and as Senior Service Engineer for Signode Business Service a divison of Ilinois Tool Works (ITW) until his retirement in 2006.
One of Glenn's greatest desires and pleasures was to be around other people and to make a contribution to the community when possible. Glenn was raised in the Pentecostal Church of God. He was a coach/director to 9 & 10 year old players in the Moreno Valley Pony Baseball League for 50 years. He served terms as President and Board Member for the Riverside Master Chorale and Board Member with the Moreno Valley Master Chorale. He sang bass “for the joy of it” in both choirs. The Gold Wing Road Riders Association offered fellowship with friends and many miles of fun on his motorcycle trips throughout U.S. He was a licensed pilot for light aircraft. As a member of the Riverside Live Steamers Club he spent many happy hours serving as Station Master giving free train rides the the general public. He also served terms as President and board member for the club. At the Moreno Valley Historical Society Glenn served as vice president and enjoyed recounting “the good old days” while working to preserve the history and heritage of his community. After retirement he worked the primary and general elections for Riverside County.
Glenn is preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Helen Maness, his brother Howard Maness. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Eldonna Maness, his son Christopher Glenn Maness and wife, Maria Maness; 3 grandchildren Daniel, Olivia and Sophia, and 2 greatchildren, Adrian and Saoirse.
