

Henry Peña passed away peacefully at his home in Woodcrest, California on May 30, 2025. Henry was born on March 25, 1937, in Casa Blanca to his parents, Severiano Peña and Mary Aguilar. He was raised by his grandparents, Severo and Pasquala Peña. Henry worked alongside his grandpa picking citrus fruits. He received his high school education from Poly High School in 1955. He was married to Bertha Soria for 68 years and had 2 children, Robert (Bobby) and Lucinda. Henry was a member of the Laborer’s Union and helped build the 91 freeway behind his home on Indiana Avenue. He also worked as Special Maintenance and a Locksmith for the Riverside Unified School District and retired after 27 years. Henry owned his own tavern in Casa Blanca “Henry’s Cantina – El Ausente” for 32 years. He moved to Woodcrest in 1976 and was proud of his fruit trees and his beautiful home. He enjoyed watching western movies, loved listening to mariachi music, going to the casinos, turnarounds to Laughlin, enjoyed family time with his grandchildren, and loved his Inland Empire Raiders Boosters Club. Henry is preceded in death by his son, Robert (Bobby). He is survived by his wife Bertha, daughter Lucinda, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, his sisters, Lily Solorio and Lydia Ortega, several nieces and nephews, several God children,many good friends, and neighbors. Remembered by all for his good deeds and good times at his pool parties and BBQ’s.
