We honor the memory of our dear friend Howard, affectionately known as “Squirrelly.” His fishing stories from Rancho Leonero will forever bring a smile to our faces. We will miss you, Squirrelly. “Tight-line” and rest in peace. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. 🎣💔

"Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same.  But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again."   One of my sweetest  memories of Howard is when his baby daughter, Kim, who passed at 19 months, was calling him,  "Daddy, Daddy!"  When he didn't answer she tried calling, "Howard!  Howard!"  That worked!
It's sad to see my brother-in-law, Howard, leave us, but a happy thought in believing and accepting that the chain is linking together, and the joy that was felt by Kimberly when she had her Daddy again.  Love never dies.
Howard was/is a great husband, a great father, a great grandfather, a great brother-in-law, and a great friend to many.  God Bless Him.

Howard was a talented brother in law across many disciplines. He was a great father and provided a good example being a coach and supporting his kids. He worked hard and did very well for himself and family working for Edison. He and my wife (Virginia) his sister had a great bond.  He and my sister-in-law Marie had a wonderful family. Two girls and three boys. I girl Kim passed early and I still remember how precious she was. The three boys (Howard, Scott, Steve) were all great athletes accomplishmenting great feats in sports. Accomplishments which we in the extended family are very proud of. Not to not be out done their sister  Carrie rose through the enlisted ranks in a career in the Army. We are all proud of her. What an awesome family. Howard will be missed. When he passed my mother-in-law Lillie's prays were still in force over her boys. God bless Marie who faithfully stood by him these many months. And the rest of the family and grandkids.

My precious brother. This picture was taken in Feb 2025.  I will miss him forever.  He was the last of my siblings and my favorite brother.  We were close growing up and after.  Visited Howard & family many times throughout the years. He was always sweet to our parents and others.  Good memories.

With 100% certainty I can say I was Howard’s favorite son in law. I was always envious of his hair (for obvious reasons)! Besides being one of the most competitive persons I ever met, he was the best fisherman and horseshoe thrower I ever saw (I will admit it now). Many great memories of Howard over the past 30 years. He was a great father in law and I will miss him dearly. If he were still with us and I said this to him, he would probably punch me, but love you Howard.

It  was a true honor to have the pleasure of taking care of Mr.Lawson and getting to know him and his family although it was a short time we grew close will always keep him in my memory.

We only knew Howard in the last years of his life; he told us that he had dementia when we first met - just after we had moved in across the street from him and Marie. Nonetheless, we enjoyed seeing and chatting with him from time to time - his dry humor and self-deprecating laugh. We trust that he is now at peace, and offer our condolences to Marie and the family.  Peter & Neal
