

Dr. Jack Thomas Combs Jr. passed from this Earth to be with God The Father in Heaven on August 11, 2021. During his last months, Jack and his affairs were compassionately taken care of by his close and dear friend Rick Malouin, a former student of 47 years.
Dr. Jack T. Combs, Jr. was born in Washington, DC on December 12, 1936 at Georgetown University Hospital to Jack T. Combs and Edna E. Johnson Combs. He was the eldest of three siblings, including his sister Jerie Paula and brother Paul Michael.
Jack was a devoted son, brother and friend to all who knew him. He attended Hines Jr. High School and graduated from Eastern High School in Washington, D.C. During those years, he served as a paper delivery boy for the Washington News and moved up the ranks to Route Manager.
Later, Jack moved to California where he held several jobs while working to obtain an Associates in Arts from Santa Ann College graduating in 1960, earned a Bachelor of Arts from Orange County State College 1962, a Masters Degree from Georgetown University, Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy from Herrington University and Doctorate of Divinity from Saint Columba's School of Theology.
When Dr. Jack T. Combs, Jr. returned east, he taught Ancient Medieval History with related subjects, at West Springfield High School and Fort Hunt High School in Virginia. He then moved to Norco CA in July 1982, and began teaching High School in Los Angeles. Dr. Jack T. Combs Jr. enjoyed his teaching career, connecting with students of many backgrounds, sponsoring several foreign exchange students from Czechoslovakia, Germany, Poland and Sweden and maintained friendships with several of his students through their adult journeys.
Jack was an avid antique collector-car hobbyist, having enjoyed owning many antique cars over the years. He was a lifetime member of the AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America), the Pierce Arrow Society and several other antique automobile clubs; enjoyed cultivating a variety of impressive flora and made the best fresh orange juice from his small but beloved citrus grove.
Jack leaves behind many friends, his brother Paul Combs; Sister-in-Law, Ginger Combs; Niece, Vicki Freidline and family; Nephew Paul Combs, Jr. and Family; and Nephews and their families, Paul Schiebold, Hans Schiebold and Warren Schiebold.
He will be missed by all.
