Jacob Aguirre Mory, age 80, of Jurupa Valley, California, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 in Jurupa Valley, California. He was born in Corona, California on August 28, 1939.
Jacob was the son of Natalia (Aguirre) and Henry Putnam Mory. He had 12 siblings (Rosa, Amalia (Molly), Rachel, Esther, Sara, Joe (Teco), Ruben, Jose, Henry, Johnny, Moses and Albert).
Jacob graduated from Corona High School in Corona, California in 1959. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served proudly on the U.S.S. Bennington as a crewmember on the carrier flight deck. While in service of our nation he was able to travel throughout the Pacific Ocean, and docked in locations such as Japan, Hong Kong, Hawaii and Alaska. He also served off the coast of Vietnam during the Vietnam Conflict.
Upon honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, Jacob began working for the Alpha Beta supermarket chain. He continued to work with the same company, even throughout ownership changes, until retirement his over 40 years later. At the time of retirement, Jacob was a truck driver and held great pride in his work.
In 1973, Jacob married Emma Josefina (Azpeitia) Mory in Santa Barbara, California, and they were married for almost 47 years. They have three daughters.
After retirement, Jacob enjoyed hobbies such as building military model planes and ships, working on home projects, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Jacob was predeceased by his dear mother, Natalia, brothers Ruben, Johnny, and Moses, and sisters Amalia (Molly) and Sara. Jacob is survived by his beloved wife, Emma; his three daughters, Natalia (Mory) Brown (husband, Bill), Rachel Mory (husband, Thomas Mailhot) and Victoria Mory. He will forever be remembered and loved by his four grandchildren, Jacob, Josephine, Louisa and Alex. He is also survived by four brothers (Joe (Teco), Jose, Henry, and Albert), and three sisters (Rosa, Rachel and Esther) as well as numerous cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.
Due to Covid-19 pandemic guidelines, the date and time of a celebration of Jacob’s life are to be planned for a later date. The Mory family welcomes any and all stories, photos, and memories that Jacob’s friends and family would like to offer to be shared at his celebration. Final internment is planned for the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.
