She is survived by her three children, nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Janice was born on 5/16/1931 to Myron and Janet Anthony of Sioux City Iowa where she attended high school. She attended the University of Iowa and was in the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.
After graduating from college, she married Dwane Mickelson of Fort Dodge Iowa and they moved to Riverside CA to start their teaching careers.
Janice was an elementary school teacher in the Riverside Unified School District for over 35 years. She volunteered at Assistance League of Riverside, The Riverside Art Museum and remained active in PEO for a number of years. Janice was also financial advisor for the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority at UC Riverside.
A memorial service will be held on Monday August 4, 2025 at 10:00 am at All Saints Episcopal Church, 3847 Terracino Drive, Riverside, CA 92506.
