In Loving Memory of my Uncle Tommy, my dads brother who recently passed. I will forever remember family functions in Riverside. As a young boy I was always fascinated by the remote contral aircraft that uncle Tommy, uncle Ernie, and my dad would build and fly. Some were as large as 1/4 scale and all were scratch built with incredible detail. Memories of uncle Ernie's upstairs workshop listening to oldies KRTH (K-Earth) 101 on the radio and visiting uncle Tommy and the many discussions about new models under construction. One of their designs, named the Excorcist, had true variable incidence wings which means that both wings would pitch to control flight without traditional ailerons. Many said such an aircraft could never fly. Somebody forgot to tell the Casarez brothers because they not only designed and built it, it flew better than conventional designs. At some point it ended up in a magazine article. Later there would be fishing trips to the Sierras and hearing about how uncle Ernie and uncle Tommy helped build the highways accross the desert - Experiences like this would lead me to grow up thinking anything was possible and could be achieved that one put their mind to. It's a blessing to be a member of such a large and loving family - Rest in Peace uncle Tommy

Uncle Tommy as i knew him, will always be fondly in my childhood memories. As a child, i remember all of us loading up in the family station wagon and heading to Riverside to visit the Casarez side of the family in Riverside. My dad, Gilbert Casarez, Uncle Tommy's younger brother, & Uncle Ernie, would all gather in Uncle Tommy's back yard and talk model airplanes. Memories that will last a life
 time. Another good one earned his wings, gone but not forgotten. Gretchen(Casarez) & Yogi Cervantez.
