Jethro Dean Lord III

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, May Jo “Josie” Strubel Lord; his parents; his sister, Juney Braden Lord; his brother, James Albert Lord; his parents-in-law, James Larkin Strubel and Rebecca Jean “Patty” Strubel; and his beloved dogs, Bo-Bo, Blackie, Taffy, Radmo, Rupho, Buddy, Dolly and Anna.

Jay graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Commerce & Business Administration. He relocated to Riverside, CA as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force in 1984 before entering the U.S. federal civil service and moving to Bulverde, TX in 1993 where he eventually retired. In 2023, he moved to Agoura Hills, CA to be closer to family.

Cherishing his memory are his only son Jethro “Jay-Jay” Dean Lord IV and daughter-in law Catherine Ruffolo Lord, his two grandchildren Jethro Michael Lord V and Alyssa Jordan Lord, his sister-in-law Jan Strubel Rector, and extended family.

The family will be holding a committal service on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park and Mortuary on 11500 Arlington Avenue, Riverside, CA 92505.
