John Westley Carricaburu

John was lifelong resident of Riverside, where he met Barbara Atkinson. John and Barbara were married June 15, 1957 and shared 62 wonderful, loving years together. They had two children: A son John E. Carricaburu (wife Pam) and a daughter, Stephanie MacDonald (husband Darren). John was blessed with four grandchildren: Brittany Lewis (Paul), Casey MacDonald (Stephanie), Cody Carricaburu (Taylor) and Heidi Little (Robert). He also had 7 great grandchildren: Aiden, Wyatt, Emery, Willow, Harper, Wesley, and Maci.

John began his career as a carpenter and later joined the City of Riverside Fire Department. He dedicated seventeen years to the fire department and was the Fire Captain at the time of retirement. Upon retirement of the fire department, he resumed his career as ca carpenter. He was also a 4-H leader for many years, while his children were active. During his free time, he enjoyed playing fast pitch softball, bowling and golfing. He also designed and built two beautiful, family homes with his wife, Barbara.

John was a devoted and loving husband. He treasured his time with Barbara. He was also very involved in his children and grandchildren's lives, whom he loved and cared about deeply. He was a man of very few words but, there was never a doubt that he loved his family.

Funeral services will be November 3, 2023 at 11:30am at Crown of Life Lutheran Church in Riverside, Ca. Burial at Olivewood Cemetery following.
