

John Robert Guilin, lovingly known as Robert, passed away on June 18, 2026, at the age of 69 after courageously facing several health challenges, including longstanding diabetes and heart failure.
Robert was born on August 27, 1956, in Blythe, California, to Fernando and Eloisa Guilin. He was preceded in death by his father, Fernando Guilin; his mother, Eloisa Guilin; and his sister, Rachel Kalinich.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Hall; his beloved daughter; his three cherished grandchildren; his brothers, Fernando "Seppie" Guilin and Vincent Guilin; his stepbrothers, David and Gilbert; his stepsister, Francis Guilin; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and lifelong friends who will miss him dearly.
Robert graduated from Rubidoux High School in 1975 and went on to attend Riverside City College, where he proudly played basketball. Basketball was one of his greatest passions, and he was known for his exceptional talent on the court. He also had a lifelong love of music and especially enjoyed playing the bass guitar.
Robert had a beautiful smile that could light up a room and a kind, welcoming spirit that drew people to him. One of his greatest gifts was his ability to maintain lifelong friendships. He remained close to many of his high school friends throughout the years and treasured the memories they shared. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be remembered for his warm heart, loyalty, sense of humor, and the love he shared with everyone who knew him.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary, 9744 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside, California. Following the visitation, family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the VFW Hall, 8607 Mission Boulevard, Rubidoux, California.
Robert's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Though he is no longer with us, his kindness, friendship, and love for his family will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
