

Joe Carmelo Martinez, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 25, 2026, at the age of 90. He was surrounded by his loving wife, children, and grandchildren. Born on March 22, 1936, in Yuma, Arizona, Joe was the 11th of 13 children born to Ramon and Victoria Martinez. He called Corona, California home for 70 years and was married to his beloved wife Lydia for nearly 66 years. Joe will be remembered by all who knew him as a man of faith, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family. He worked for the Corona-Norco Unified School District for 28 years. In retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, as well as his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. He loved tending to his home and garden, but most of all, he cherished time spent with his family. Joe faithfully attended Alpha and Omega Apostolic Church in Riverside, California. He is survived by his loving wife, Lydia Martinez; children, Steve Martinez (Diane), Benny Martinez, Joel Martinez (Stephanie), and Joana Trevino (Lee); brother, Jesse Martinez; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on May 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Alpha and Omega Apostolic Church, 5662 Crest Ave, Riverside, California, followed by graveside services and burial at 1:30 p.m. at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park, 11500 Arlington Ave, Riverside, California. Joe’s life was a testament to love, faith, and family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.
