Though words will not be enough to comfort you during this time, I wanted to share my memories of Juan. Juan was a gentleman, who deeply loved his girls. A man of few words, but made sure the words he used were meaningful. I will never forget when Marl`in called me after we closed on their home. She was a little agitated and when I asked what was wrong, she said , "You know what Juan did to me?!" I replied, "Oh no, what?" "He got me pregnant and now he is in Mexico City with his friends, smoking cigars and drinking Brandy to celebrate." I said, "Congratulations?"

Such a gentle, unassuming man, Juan was such a good soul who loved his family more than anything in life. I got to know him a bit when I visited him a couple of times in the hospital a few years ago, where of course his beloved Marlene was by his side. He also got to hold my first grandson when Amanda and I visited her “second family” in Riverside. Juan was so proud to take his eldest daughter down the aisle when she got married, and I am happy that he did not miss that beautiful event. My most heartfelt condolences go out to Marlene, Grandma Daphne, Daphne & Junior, Anne, and Joan.

With Love,
Kathy Martin & family
