Kaneko was born on April 10, 1932 in Albeno - KU, Japan. She had two brothers and three sisters.
Kaneko married the love of her life, Charles "Chuck" Smith, on September 10, 1957. Chuck and Kaneko first moved to Anaheim, CA where they raised two children, Patricia Sweeny and Scott Smith. Although she left Japan, she remained very close to her family there, and visited every chance she had.
Eventually, the Smiths moved to Mira Loma, CA where Kaneko resided for over thirty years. Sadly, Chuck passed away at the age of fifty-four. Kaneko was lucky to have a second chance at love when she met Francis "Frank" Young. Kaneko and Frank were married for twenty-one years.
For thirty plus years, Kaneko was a talented seamstress. When she first started, she specialized in making swimwear. Later on, she did alterations for Sam's Western Wear. She enjoyed both.
Kanrko was a devoted mother to her two children , and she was blessed with fifteen grandchildren whom she loved and bragged about any chance she got. Kaneko was very excited to recently become a great grandmother. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family.
Kaneko also loved sushi, bible study, and the casino. In that order. She was known for her spunky spirit and good sense of humor. Kaneko was prideful, yet humble, stubborn, yet compassionate. When it came to lending a helping hand, she wouldn't hesitate.
Kaneko will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She was surrounded by her entire family as she took her last breath. Through her family, her spirit will live on. For she instilled in them, the true meaning of strength.
