Lawrence (Larry) Schwieger, age 90, passed away at his home in Corona, California on Friday, May 29, 2026. Larry was born on November 16, 1935, in Webster City, Iowa, the son of Walter and Ethel (Buettner) Schwieger. In 1953, the family moved to Riverside, California. He was married to Dorothy (Dottie) Ferguson on June 27, 1964. He is survived by a daughter, Laura, a sister, Trudy (Eric) and two nieces. After graduating from Poly High in Riverside, he was employed at the Naval Ordnance Laboratory in Norco, followed by enlisting in the United States Army. He then became an industrial arts teacher at Sherman Indian High School for 20 years before he retired. Larry's special retirement hobby was maintaining and traveling in his Model A Fords. He was a member of the American Legion Post 328 and also a member of Forty and Eight Voiture 394. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 26 at 9:00am at Crestlawn Memorial Park, 11500 Arlington Avenue, Riverside, California 92505.
