Leona C. Lippire passed away after a long illness at the age of 92 in Torrance, California. She was born to the late Oscar and Gabrielle Anthone in Omaha, Nebraska.
During WW II Leona met her husband the late Kenneth D. Lippire, they married on May 7, 1946.
Eleven years and four children later they moved to Kearney, Nebraska where they bought the Ideal Motel. The following 15 years they were busy running the motel and raising their children, a total of 8.
In 1972 they moved to Riverside. When all the children left home she wanted to keep busy and she loved children, so she decided to work as a cook in a preschool.
At the age of 79 she moved to Henderson, Nevada to be with her daughter Margie.
Leona loved cooking, sewing, crocheting and shopping.
She is survived by her 7 children, Sharon Elliott, Peter Lippire, Margaret Eaker, Kathleen Wafer, Robert Lippire, Edward Lippire, Deborah Williams, her 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 brothers Henry Anthone and Albert Anthone.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, her daughter Joan Coreno and her brother Robert Anthone.
Visitation will be June 9, 2018 at Acheson and Graham Mortuary, 7944 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside, Californian between 4-8 pm.
A memorial Mass to Celebrate Leona’s life will be June 10, 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help 5250 Central Avenue, Riverside, California 92504 at 12 noon. Internment will follow at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd. Riverside, California 92518
