Liberdade "Libby" Neves Fernandes

“Libby” of Norco, California, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She was 90 years old.

Libby met Joe in 1956, and they were married in 1958. In 1968, they moved from Massachusetts to California, where they made their home in Norco. Libby was a devoted wife, a loving mother to their five children, and a treasured grandmother and great-grandmother to her 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, Libby was devoted to her Catholic beliefs and lived her life guided by prayer, service, and love. She generously volunteered with the Lions Club and remained active within the Portuguese community.

Libby faithfully stood by Joe through every business adventure, offering her unwavering support, wise counsel, and steady prayers—often with a smile and a gentle reminder that God was in control.

Libby was known for her nurturing spirit, boundless generosity, and open heart. Her home was a place of warmth, kindness, faith, and a meal that made everyone feel welcome. Though she will be dearly missed, her legacy of love and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Libby is survived by her beloved husband, Joe, and their five children: Mary, Mark, Margaret, Marsha, and Martin.
