“Happy Heavenly Birthday “ Lonzo
On 2/25/23 it thundered, it rained, the heavens called your name, you did not resist, but overjoyed to  hear your name on Jesus’ list, you left here knowing that you would finally see Jesus once you took that final heavenly  journey in the Spirit.🕊️🕊️🕊️🙏🏾💕🙌🏾

It is Friday July 28, 2023.  I just found out that Lonzo Cotton passed away earlier this year.  Growing up Lonzo’s address was 1809 and my address was 1810.  His father, mother and brother lived directly across the street from my family and me.  Lonzo was a big brother to the younger boys on the street, like me, who did not have a big brother.  But he was a big brother to all the boys on the street who needed one and a great friend to all of us as well.  He was a role model.  And I don’t know if he knew how much of an impact, he had on us.  He had all the boys on the street lifting weights trying to get “BIG”.  He made slingshots for us that shot real arrows.  He built wooden bench presses for us with the attached leg lift apparatus.  He built chin up bars in our garages.  He set up a basketball goal in his backyard and allowed us to have a safe place to come hang out.  He gave us wood for our projects and helped us with them.  He talked to us and got on our cases when we needed it.  We came up in a great neighborhood.  But there was something extra special about our block.  The overwhelming majority of the boys on our block became successful and positive men.  And Lonzo played a big part in helping to make that happen.  Rest in Peace Big Brother.
