

Mac was born on September 16, 1945, in Tacoma Park, Maryland, to the late
Boyd Henry Mann and Kathleen Smith Mann and passed away at the age of
75 on September 24, 2020 in Anaheim ,CA. He was raised in Rockville,
Maryland and graduated from Richard Montgomery High School in 1963. He
worked for Ivy H. Smith for a few years before being drafted into the army in
1966. He was stationed in Grafenwohr, Germany for a year and was later sent
to Walter Reed Army Medical Center until his discharge in 1968. He met the
love of his life, Donna Rae Mann of Johnstown, PA in 1965 and they became
engaged in 1966. They subsequently married in 1967 and remained together
until his death.
He graduated from Montgomery College, Tacoma Park, MD in 1970 and the
University of Maryland, College Park, MD in 1972. He began his career in
1972 as a Special Agent for the Interstate Commerce Commission (23 years)
and its successor the Federal Highway Administration and the Federal Motor
Carrier Safety Administration (10 years).
Mac volunteered for the Walnut AYSO as a coach and assistant coach from
1985 to 1996 for his three kids’ teams. When his own kids aged out of
playing for AYSO, he spent seven more years coaching for the Walnut VIP
Team. He loved teaching the kids soccer strategy.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, his beloved children - his daughter Laura
E. Mann and his sons Kevin C. Mann (Erica) and Brian T. Mann (Sophie) as
well as his adored grandchildren - Querelle, Ireland, Nico, Henry and Kai.
The family is planning a celebration of his life when it is again safe to
gather.
