Grandpa loved to talk about his experiences in the navy on an aircraft carrier. I remember one time he talked to me about his life in 2018 the day before Saundra and Nates wedding. I had just driven down 14/15 hours from Northern California and was sooo exhausted and hungry . We just arrived and Grandpa knocks on the door and we sit down at the table to talk - a couple of the things I remember was how his friend saved his life from being blown off the ship and how his ship was in the Gulf of Tonkin conflict in 1964. During this epic story telling I had fallen asleep, head on the table, while Kristina was still listening. I woke up to grandpa smiling at me still telling his story. I looked at the time and it had been 3 hours of Grandpa talking to us. I miss him so much. I remember how Daniel and I drove him nuts - we would be running around him and being loud all the time. I miss his big hugs - he had this way of hugging where you felt you were being crushed and he’d happily shake you - as though you were a jet taking off. I miss you and love you so much grandpa and will see you up in heaven.

Dad, you loved coming to church to share special holidays with your grandkids and children. We are at Liberty Baptist church in Newport Beach celebrating Easter together in (I think) 2015.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mario.  I am a farmer co-worker of his from DPSS/Belvedere Dist.  How we loved his stories of his days in the service. He shared tons of family photos with all of us.  Oh, and how he loved his beautiful daughters and all of his grandchildren.  God bless you all and my deepest condolences to each of you.
