My sister Marion was like a second mother to me after our mother passed away. She was so helpful when I had my children, especially after my third child, Jason was born. I used to go to her home with frequency and always had a wonderful visit. Marion dispensed helpful advice and always encouraged me when I needed support. Marion was a wonderful example of motherhood and will be missed by all who knew her.

For most of my life, I did not live near Aunt Marion but she always sent me postcards when I was a kid and teenager. She had a sense of curiosity and adventure that provided me with postcards from many different places. Getting mail as a child is so exciting, and I appreciate the time she took to send it.

I remember my grandma taking me to religious instruction every week & one time she backed into the basketball pole, we got out to check the damage & she said oops just a little bump. A few years later I knocked down a mailbox & I remember being so ashamed. She joked with me saying it’s ok Denise just a bump that’s it. She had a way of making bad situations into “ok” situations.

I love this picture of her sharing in excitement of one of her great grandsons showing her something at the dinosaur museum for her birthday two years ago.
