Biography

      Matthew Garrett Fawver was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Matthew will be remembered as a very exceptional person.

      Matthew was born on February 25, 1988 at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, California. He was the son of Mark Fawver and Linda Curl. Matthew grew up in Riverside, California.

      Matthew was raised with two siblings. He had two younger brothers, Justin Fawver and David Curl. Matthew was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.

      As a young boy, Matthew had a number of interests. Like most children, he enjoyed playing and making up games. He was curious about the world around him and was often eager to explore it. Matthew was an active child who took part in football, wrestling and skateboarding. In his spare time he liked to play video games. Matthew's memorable achievements included awards for mathematical ability and outstanding citizenship. However, to Matthew, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with his friends.

      A typical teenager, Matthew had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He graduated from Ramona High School in 2006. He enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers. His favorite class in high school was Music Tech. The teacher he enjoyed learning from the most was Ms. Barnes.

      Always considered a “good” friend to those he knew, Matthew enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during his lifetime. While growing up, some of his best friends were Drew Fox, Scott Davidson and Raymond Settles. Later in life, he met and fell in love with Mariah Schugg. They dated for 6 years and were engaged to be married.

      Fortunately, Matthew enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Matthew worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary occupation was Sales Manager. He was employed for 8 years by Inland Industrial Supply. Matthew always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.

      Matthew enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were bowling and video games.

      Matthew found pleasure in sports. In high school, Matthew participated in football and wrestling. Recreational sports included bowling. Matthew was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite events whenever he had the chance to do so. Tops on his list was football.

      Matthew passed away on October 31, 2018 at Parkview Hospital in Riverside, California. He is survived by his father Mark Fawver, his mother Linda Curl, his brothers Justin Fawver and David Curl and his grandfather Keith Fawver. Services were held at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary.

      Simply stated, Matthew was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Matthew leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Matthew Garrett Fawver.
