Maxine Eva Shurtz

Maxine was born on April 19, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Harald and Sara Skabelund Jensen. Married her husband Verl in Salt Lake City, Ut. She retired from Mountain Bell in 1983 after 30+ years. She loved her job and made many lifelong friends.

Maxine loved to cook, always trying new recipes. She loved to entertain her family and friends with good food on her beloved patio and beautiful yard filled with flowers. She was adventurous, loved to laugh, and always had words of wisdom to share with family and friends.

Maxine with her husband Verl traveled and explored every scenic sight and canyon in Utah and loved to picnic on the way. She relished her role as a fun grandmother and great grandmother and made sure those kids knew how loved and important they were to her. She will forever be our "Grammy".

Survived by her daughter Nancy Waldo, grandchildren Kristen (Mark) Flach and Robert Nash. Great grandchildren Sara Flach and Samuel Flach. Preceded in death by her wonderful husband Verl, and siblings Harold Jensen, Ella Griffin, Evelyn Barney, Florence Yeager and Mariane Bithell.

A private family memorial will be held at Maxine's request.
