Milton Earl Holecek

August 22, 1961August 27, 2020

Milton Holecek loved the Lord above all else. He radiated joy, brought smiles to all, and made friends everywhere he went. He was a wonderful compilation of the best qualities; he lead a life of integrity wrapped in an infectious sense of humor. When you talked with Milton, he listened in a way that made you feel special, and you were guaranteed to laugh.

Born August 22, 1961, Milton was a proud graduate of Downy High School and Northwestern College Iowa majoring in Biology/General Science. He put his education to work in his position as Operations Assistant at Xtra Lease where he enjoyed his work and special friendships with his co-workers. But his formal education did not prepare him for what came next!

On June 22, 1996, Milton Holecek’s world turned upside down. On a blind date, Milton met Jennifer Gardner and never looked back. They had a big church wedding and grand, fun-filled reception on October 18, 1997, but this was only the beginning of their amazing love story. They soon welcomed their beautiful daughter Jessica and declared their family complete when Garret made four. Milton loved Jennifer with his whole heart and his children were blessed to have both his example and abundant love. Milton did EVERYTHING for his family.

Milton was a self-proclaimed Disney freak. He was always happy to be at Disney with his family and special Disney friends. If you follow him on Facebook, you are aware of his big passion for Disneyland trash cans but his interests don’t stop there. Milton enjoyed smoking meat and advancing his bar-b-que expertise. Garrett affirms that everything he cooked tasted as good as it looked. And Milton loved NASCAR. At the track or following from afar, he enjoyed the roar of engines and the flash of speed.

Milton, a brave and positive five-year cancer survivor, passed away on August 27, 2020. The world is dimmer without the bright light of his life, but there is peace in knowing he is home with his Savior.

Milton was a ray of sunshine and always so funny. He always made lemons into lemonade. He beat cancer with a smile on his face. What I loved was watching Milton speak while Jennifer gazed at him with such love every time he opened his mouth. Jennifer laughed at everything he said. Her love for him was as strong as a first crush and lasted. The Holoceck family had such a strong bond. Dad, mom, kids. Seeing them together just proved their love for each other. I have never known Milton to be anything other than kind and funny. I don't know what he looks like without a smile. There is power in that kindness he had. Everyone loved him. God bless.

I was not lucky enough to know Milton personally, but I do know Jennifer and watching their love story in action was a beautiful thing. What an incredible legacy he leaves behind for his beloved Jennifer and two wonderful children. I will continue to pray for your sweet family that those incredible memories of love will carry all of you through the difficult days and weeks ahead! Love to all of you!

Milton...What can I say.
I met Milton as we both had Drama class in High school..He was a natural at his craft..and he did lighting to when there were shows..He was always a kind gentle soul as I remember him...Later as we all grew up to becoming adults I saw Milton online on a different site since Facebook was known yet I dont believe..or maybe it was I dont remember..At that time I worked at ABC channel 7 News...He had a little daughter named Jessica who was small in 2009..She was with GirlScouts and was selling cookies..So I contacted Milton and wanted to order some to help out..as we spoke he inquired about the Station I worked for and said his daughter Jessica was a huge fan of Dallas Raines our Meteroligist there...I suggested they come by and I would give them a tour of our station..Milton was very excited..So they brought the family down a few days later and I met Jennifer his wonderful wife and children...We toured the studio..Jessica wanted to know if she could meet Dallas..I said well lets go ser if hes in his office..He was ..Dallas took a picture with Jessica and also sighed up to buy some of her Girl Scout cookies..Then we bumped into George Pennachio our Entertainment reported..she also took a picture and sold Georhe a bunch of cookies as well as others..The day ended. On a very happy note..I also was asked to chaperone a Birthday party with Jennifer Miltons wife for Jessicas Birthday..we all rode in a Limo that day..Milton was very happy that day all went great..All in all I cant believe Milton has gone home to our lird..But it looks as though our Lord needed him for a special heavnly project only he was fit for..You are missed my friend..Until we meet again..Your friend Ricki Ann..

Milton, you were always a light on my Facebook feed. A funny joke and a much needed smile were always available. I feel blessed to have known you, even for a small time. May heaven be filled with Disney trash cans and endless Chew Chew Train rides.

Milton, I don’t know where to begin. You have me speechless once again like you always have with your “one liners”. My heart, like so many others, is broken, however, knowing how strong your faith is and was in the LORD, I do have some peace knowing that you are with HIM. I am going to miss our little NASCAR conversations. Say hi to Sr for me please lol. Your presence here on earth is going to be sorely missed, however, your going to live forever in our memories! Until we meet again.

Milt was always great with our kids Tim and Kristin. They thought he was funny. Milt always had a great time at our Halloween carnival. Here is a funny pic of him holding Kristin...she did not like, elephant Milt, hahaha
We will forever miss his happy face, and beautiful manner. I always enjoyed talking with him. Christian, is the first word that comes to mind. Fun, is the second word that comes to mind when I think of him. But actually, there are so many words. God bless you Milt...we will see you again ❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻

Milton was a peacemaker, able to calm folks with understanding and good joke, ok sometimes absurd joke but designed to deflect heated conversations. He made friends quickly and I admired how he could develop relationships. I'll miss his welcoming "Hi Rabbis" when we ran into each other but look forward to seeing him again.
