Nistor Gavril Pal

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nistor “Nick” Gavril Pal, lovingly known as Ticu, who departed this life on October 29, 2024, at age 69 in Riverside, California, of natural causes. Born on July 22, 1955, in the beautiful town of Salard, Romania, he was the beloved son of Elizabeta and Gavril. A man of steadfast faith, Nick was a devoted Christian who held his values close throughout his life.

After serving his country honorably as a Sergeant in the Romanian Military, Nick courageously left Romania in 1988 to seek a new life for his family in Anaheim, California. His skills and passion led him to a career in automotive restoration, where he found joy in breathing life back into damaged cars—a craft that reflected his attention to detail and deep appreciation for the beauty of the past.

In 1977, he married the love of his life, Ecaterina, and together they shared nearly five decades of love, resilience, and laughter. Their union blessed them with three cherished daughters: Alexandrina, Camelia, and Nicoleta, who carry on his legacy with love and pride.

Outside of his work, Nick had a keen eye for photography, a love for fishing, and a deep appreciation for classic films. These passions allowed him to find peace, capture memories, and share treasured moments with those he loved. His family fondly remembers his patience by the water’s edge, his skill with a camera, and the warmth he brought into every room.

Nick is survived by his devoted wife, Ecaterina; his daughters Alexandrina, Camelia, and Nicoleta; and his adored grandchildren, Adrian, Jenina, Austin, and Alana. He will also be dearly missed by his brother Iosca and sisters Ana, Aurica, and Marioara, 22 nieces and nephews, as well as his extended family and friends.

Nick leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and integrity. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A visitation for Nistor will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Mortuary, 11500 Arlington Ave, Riverside, CA 92505. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 11500 Arlington Ave, Riverside, CA 92505. A committal service will occur Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, 11500 Arlington Ave, Riverside, CA 92505.
