Noma Olivia Bahler was born on October 3, 1938, and entered her heavenly home on November 27, 2025. She now rejoices in the presence of her Lord, beloved husband, Leanord Bahler, and her parents Olivia Bell and Edward Cowan Sr.
Noma’s life was shaped by deep faith and a steadfast love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her walk with God influenced every part of who she was—her compassion for others, the joy she carried, and the genuine hope she extended to everyone she met.
She was also known for her lively spirit and love of fun. Whether playing cards, cribbage, or working through a puzzle, her competitive spark and contagious laughter brightened even the simplest of moments. Noma had a talent for turning basic activities into cherished memories, all while keeping her wonderful sense of humor.
Noma lived most of her life in Riverside, CA, and planted deep roots in the community. She served in her local church (The Grove), SOWER ministry, and Teen Challenge for decades giving generously of her time and resources and building lifelong relationships. One of Noma’s greatest gifts was hospitality. She hosted countless in her home for a meal or extended stay, expecting nothing in return. She poured love into her family, friends, and church through simple, heartfelt acts—opening her home, sharing a meal, offering help, and giving the gift of her time and presence. If someone sat alone, she would be the first to sit beside them, offering warmth, conversation, and the assurance that they mattered. She was driven by kindness and connection, making others feel welcome and valued.
Noma is lovingly remembered by her son, Robert (Keri) Minning and his family; daughter, Robyn Minning-Esposito and her family; step-children Brenda (Jim) Gibson, Cathy (Richard) Chabolla, Chris (Steve) Spiri, Sue Bahler, Dan (Jennifer) Bahler, and Neva (Jim) Ringdahl , and their families; older brother, Eddie Cown Jr (Jeanie); and younger sister Joan North.
The legacy she leaves—one of faith, joy, hospitality, connection, and kindness—will endure. Though she will be deeply missed, the beauty of her life will continue to shine through all who were blessed to know her.
