

Oscar Santana was born on December 2, 1948 in National City, California. He grew up in Los Angeles and Fullerton, California. He went on to graduate from Cerritos College and earned his Air Conditioning Certificate. From 1969 to 1970 he was married to Maxine Roudebush and they had his first son, John. In 1974, he married Kathy Santana and they had his second son, Phillip, and only daughter Jaymie, with a marriage of 33 years. Oscar decided, in 1975, to open his own business called Santana Deburring Inc. and it became a very successful business. Here they work on deburring aircraft parts. Anyone who knew Oscar realized how hard he worked to keep his business successful. Oscar not only was a successful businessman, he also loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed the outdoors. This includes camping, hunting, fishing, ATV riding, trips to the beach and traveling. Not to mention the family pets throughout his life with the most current being Teddy. A few memories from his children include: A camping trip to Pismo Beach where Oscar took Jaymie’s kids meal bucket from Wienerschnitzel she had just gotten and used it to dig out his tires from the sand. She also holds close to her heart the time as an adult, 14 years, that she worked proudly beside him. Phillip remembers his dad as a loving father who would push him to his fullest potential as his coach in baseball and football, as well as daily goals. He sums his dad up as the man who set an example for him and taught him what it takes to be a man. His oldest son, John reflects on the good times they had together while out in the dessert riding their ATV’s and shooting guns. He enjoyed all of their conversations about sports, politics and what was currently going on in the world, and of course, the occasional debates.For those who knew Oscar, we will miss his charming smile and the sound of his laughter. The way he made everyone feel special. He will be truly missed! He leaves behind his brother Edward, sisters Olga and Sandra. His children John, Phillip, and Jaymie and 5 grandchildren.
