My name is Christina Kennedy, but Patricia knew me as "Prof K." I was Patricia's English professor at Mt. San Jacinto College during the Spring 2017 semester, and I am saddened and still shocked to hear of her passing.

Although I never knew Patricia on a personal level, I knew her as a student; seeing how a person is in the role of a student is a great reflection of who they truly are. I've interacted with a variety of students over the years, but Patricia was the kind of variety that I'd welcome into my classroom any day. She was timely, she was respectful, and, most importantly (in an academic sense), she had a true desire to learn and do well. When we would have class discussions, she actively participated, and it was evident to me that she found fulfillment in her job, she loved her family, and she enjoyed her life. Patricia also had an air of optimism about her, and even when we would discuss dreary topics in class, she would always have something positive to contribute. It was because of this that I respected her not only as a student but as a mother, a spouse, and a woman in general.

To the family and friends of Patricia, I want to offer my deepest sympathies during this difficult time. I know loss all too well, and I know that losing loved ones hurts a different way every time someone passes; I hope that knowing Patricia is at peace provides even the mildest of comfort to each of you.
