Patricia Gonzalez was born on April 25, 1932 and died on October 6, 2018. A longtime Riverside resident for over 53 years, Patricia or “Pat” as her close friends and family knew her worked for the County of Riverside for over 25 years. The next 26 years were filled with new adventures and she discovered she had many hidden talents, namely art. She credits her artistic abilities to the Goeske Center, where she spent many Wednesdays with her painting group, creating amazing masterpieces. She also loved gardening and was a lifelong member of the Riverside Rose Society and the Rare Fruit Growers. Over the years, she filled her backyard with many different varieties of roses and exotic fruits. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society known for promoting fun and friendship among women and the Newcomer’s Organization. She looked forward to lunch at the Victoria Club as well as daylong casino outings. She believed in giving back to her community and contributed generously to St. Catherine’s Church, where she was a long time parishioner.
Pat’s pride and joy was definitely her family. She enjoyed visiting and supporting her 8 grandchildren, Denicio, Gabriella, Victor, Zachary, Quinton, Mateo, Virginia, and Vanessa. Her daughter, Suzanne and her husband Loren, her son, Andres and his wife Sally, and her son, Jon and his wife, Theresa, also survive her.
Although our mom, grandma and friend is no longer with us, we take comfort in knowing she has gone to a better place. In lieu of flowers, the Gonzalez family is requesting donations in Pat’s name to either the Janet Goeske Senior Center in Riverside or the American Cancer Society.
