As i called him " Dong Patrick " at work because we both  speak the same language Bisaya. Patrrick has always been known with his bright smiles when he comes to work. He has a very positive attitude and willingly help his co-workers. I remembered one time when he was confined to our hospital his room is filled with 80-90s rock music and I told him that he brought me back to my younger years hearing those songs again. Dong Patrick, rest well, you are in a better place now. Thank you for being a nice friend and a good co-worker to us. We will surely miss you. Praying for strength and comfort for your family and love ones.  Til we meet again...



Dear Paking, You left everything  behind in a short time. The moments you shared with us will always speak of the great person that you were. You will always be in our  prayers and thoughts. You will be missed forever and always. Sleep well in heaven, you are no longer in pain and God has a beautiful  reward for you. Look over Erlyn, Ate Maya, and Kurt in heaven. Patrick is hardworking and very kind to patients and co-workers. He is one of those who sincerely appreciate my work and other colleagues in 5 West.  He always prompted me to relax when the floor was overwhelming; he tapped my shoulder and reminded me that the day would be over soon and we would all go home after a difficult day. His strength and positivity are admired because despite what he’s going through, he managed to dedicate his life to nursing service. 

Go home to Jesus, Patrick, our brother and loving friend in 5 West. Go to the light God has lit for you and be at peace to rest.
 We will miss you, but you will remain an inspiration of courage and genuine service! 

Patrick was a simple, humble and sincere person at work.  I remember during a rare moment of downtime at work when we got to talk among ourselves and some co-workers , he had shared his humble beginnings as a youth growing up in Bohol. I told him i admire him for his perseverance and faith and how he got to where he is now and that to me in itself is a success story.  He  always had a smile and a joke to spare. It was a privelege to get to know Patrick no matter how fleeting. You are now with God and know that you will be missed by friends and especially your family. God speed my dear friend.

My heartfelt condolence to the breareved family, As our President and BATCHMATE in HNU our high school days memories remains forever. As what I have known, you are a very good friend of mine. Losing a loved one is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. It feels like fog casting a veil over your life. I want you to know it won’t always be that way. The fog will clear, and the sun will shine again. When you need a ray of light, I will never be far away. I am sending you my heartfelt sympathies and condolences.

Paking, I will always remember you as somebody who is…
1. Warm : its so easy to be comfortable with you for you exude an air of warmness and friendliness. Your smile is always your best accessory. 

2. People-person : when you were elected as our batch President in high school it is because you are very reachable. With 300 batchmates you were able to connect with us in our different level of personalities. Its not even difficult to open up with you. You are someone who listens, understands and acts. 

3. Humble : you have been gifted in many ways yet you remain to be grounded and grateful. Your kind of leadership is always that of being able to serve. 

4. kind : only goodness and kindness come out from you. Sometimes you will have to restrain making comments if you know its not uplifting. 

5. Generous : you are one of those who would respond immediately to those who need assistance in the batch. 

6. Family man: in the few moments i spent with you and the family, i have seen how you invest your time and resources in strengthening your family. I see how you love being around with them. They are your truest joy and treasures. 

Paking, you are a gift to many. You have endured all things not for yourself but for those whom you valued and loved. No wonder you are much loved. And you will always be remembered. Thank you for being a part of our lives. 

All things must pass but hard to understand why a wonderful person ahould be taken to rest so early. Iam niether a nurse nor from Bohol nor a Visayan but Patrick became a close friend because of basketball, a game we both love. We played basketball every free morning since 2013 at the Eastvale Community  Civic Center.
I am forever gratedul  to Patrick because four years ago this month of May, he saved my life when i had a heart attack while playing basketball. He never gave up on me until help arrived. How ironical it is for a person who saved you pass ahead of you. Forever thankful but all things must pass. You bravely fought your battle against this dreaded desease and it won the last minute.
To a wonderdul husband, a loving Father, a fine gentleman, a dedicated nurse, and a great friend, we bid you goodbye for now until we meet again.
There is a reason for everything and we know God has better plans for you. Now Erlyn, Maya, Kurt, family and all your friends have an Angel in heaven. Please always pray for us
No more pain pain for you. Enjoy the Peace of Heaven and forever happiness with our Lord.

Patrick, it’s very unfortunate that sin has brought this misery among human race, but I thank God for the life of love you lived.  You never complained, you’re always loving, caring, well focused to do what you loved to do, helping others.  This is not the end because our Savior has promised us a better place, and definitely you will have a well deserve place in the bosom of the Almighty. Patrick was a very kind and quiet nurse. Even though I worked nights, I always enjoyed giving report to him. I remember him walking around the unit with his cane, with a very upbeat and positive attitude. He always had a smile on his face despite the challenges he was facing. I was very sad to hear of his passing. My condolences to all his family. I know he is with the Lord now and very happy and at peace. We will certainly miss you Patrick. 🙏🥰❤️ Alba LaPlace 

I will never forget when you danced "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang way back 1st yr HS with some of our classmates. You had the broom as your prop and I still remember the steps. That was fun! I always mention this to you whenever we see each other and we laugh about it. I thought of you as a quiet, reserved type yet a very cool and friendly guy. You were always calm ,very intelligent and most liked, no wonder you are our PRESIDENT. I know you are dancing there in the heavens. Will always remember and pray for you. Watch over us especially Erlyn, Maya and Kurt. You will be missed. Thank you for the friendship and the memories.   

Paks! I have known you since we were young. You’re such a kind, smart and soft spoken gal. I will cherish the great memories we spend together. No more pain, rest in peace my friend.

We can somehow forget few of our batchmates names or faces, but with Patrick aka "Paking" is a name and kind heart whose legacies - served well for all of us. I can diverse back to the memory lane during HNU years and can see Paking's smiling face - all I can remember is his smiling aura of simplicity and a leader to the HNU Batch 91. But his smiling face and kind heart endures even after that graduation day of 1991 and will live within us as a burning beacon that reminds us of Patrick during his journey here on earth and his eternal life with God. Gone too soon but not forgotten. Patrick rest in peace in Heaven.

Good memories with Patrick Paking Vertulfo, who enjoyed togetherness and sharing talents and life stories with a touch of laughter. You went ahead to our loving God, our Creator.
