It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Peter Diaz Zamora Sr. He departed this life on June 8, 2025, at the age of 83, surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren.
Peter was born on April 27, 1942 to his parents Alejo Zamora and Victoria Diaz Zamora in Riverside, California. He leaves behind a loving wife, Jennie Sanchez Zamora and one sister (Isabel Guerrero). He was the proud father of five children: Peter Zamora Jr., Beatrice Ray, Emma Silva, Linda Zamora-Murillo (Manuel Murillo), and Leo Zamora. He had 20 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one great-grandson (Micah); his five brothers (Adrian Zamora Sr., Ramiro Zamora, Gabriel Zamora Sr., Martin Zamora Sr. and Rudy Zamora Sr.) and three sisters (Petra Perez, Connie Gutierrez, and Nicolasa Zamora).
To his family, he was more than just a patriarch—he was a teacher, a role model, and a steady source of comfort and wisdom.
Peter had a deep connection to the simple joys of life. He found great pride in working in his yard and tending to his fruit trees. He also had a unique passion for fixing things around the house—tinkering and improving everything he could get his hands on. There was never a project too small or too big for him to take on.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and dedication that will live on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Though our hearts are broken, we find peace in knowing he is at rest, and his spirit will forever surround us—like the fruit trees and yard he lovingly tended and the home he so carefully preserved.
Rest in peace, Dad. Your hands built more than just a home—they built a family, and we will carry you in our hearts always.
A memorial service for Peter will be held Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary, 7944 Magnolia Ave, Riverside, CA 92504.
