Ralph Carlos Monge

Ralph (Rafael Carlos) was born on September 20, 1940 in Mexicali, Baja, Mexico, and the second of four children. When he was 12 years old, Ralph and his family immigrated to California, laying down roots that would influence the rest of his life. After graduating from Aquinas High School in 1960, Ralph proudly served in the Marine Corps Reserve. Ralph met his future wife, Nancy V. Candelaria, at a local dance in 1963 and they exchanged wedding vows on July 17, 1971.

Ralph was a devoted husband and father whose greatest joy was his family. He and Nancy raised four children—Valorie Jean, Ralph Carlos Jr. (deceased), James Michael, and Michael Jason–-creating a lifetime of cherished memories through family camping trips, long road adventures, and weekend visits with relatives. In later years, he found happiness in his role as a grandfather to his seven grandchildren.

Ralph, a strong proponent of education, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from California State University, San Bernardino in 1973. He dedicated his time as a civil engineer, right-a-way agent, and appraiser for San Bernardino County. After retiring from the County, he turned his passion and interest toward becoming a real estate developer and business owner. He was also active in Kiwanis, Toastmasters, and San Bernardino Sister Cities Committee. Ralph loved playing the guitar, always providing “Put Another Candle on the Birthday Cake” whenever he had the opportunity. Always staying active, he was an avid handball player, participating well into his 70’s.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Valorie and Raymond Enciso of Corona; his son and daughter-in-law, James and Krista Monge of Yucaipa; and his son, Michael Jason Monge of Yucaipa. He leaves behind his seven cherished grandchildren: Bekah Monge, Alicia Enciso, Erick Monge, Matthew Enciso, Joseph Enciso, James Monge Jr., and Joshua Enciso. Ralph is also survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Gloria and Fidel Aguirre, Sally Garcia, and Connie and Frank Anderson, all of Beaumont, along with many loving nieces, nephews, and godchildren.

Funeral services for Ralph will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary, 7944 Magnolia Ave, Riverside, California.

Following the funeral service, a committal service will take place from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Montecito Memorial Park, 3520 E. Washington St, Colton, California.
