Ramie Z. Byrd, a resident of Moreno Valley for 60 years, passed away on November 25, 2011. Ramie was born on November 16, 1923 to Ben and Elvira Markham in Sulligent Alabama. Ramie was preceded in 1992 by her loving husband of 45 years, William J. Byrd and her brothers Buford, Vard, Orman, Russell, Kermit and Hilton, and her sister Jamie. She is survived by her sister Maxine Byrd; daughters, Brenda Hartzell and Jo Anne (Angie) Byrd; sons, Jerry (Nyla) and David (Vickie) Byrd. Ramie was the proud grandmother of Jim, Phil (Rose) and Jason Hartzell; Davey, Joshua, Kenny and Cassie Byrd; Angela (Dustin) Plamondon, and Lynda (Don) Dean. She was the doting great grandmother to Ryan, Chris, Amanda, Keegan and Kieran Hartzell and Audra and Emily Plamondon.
Her Committal Service will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on Thursday, December 1, 2011, at 11:30a.m., staging area #6. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Alzheimer's Association or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Arrangements under the direction of Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary, Riverside, CA.
