I remember when I he asked me to read his palm at Riverside Plaza outside of See's Candy. I said, "I don't know why, but I see you becoming a police officer." He was stunned and commented that he always wanted to be a police officer and couldn't believe I saw that from his hand.

Years later I ran into him at Ralph's and I got to see him from time to time. He mentioned something about Martial arts and police academy, I think. I liked seeing him whenever I would go in to grab something. He was always smiling, but serious, and friendly but quiet. A few more years went by before I went back and I didn't see him anymore. I thought maybe he joined the academy or married or moved. I hoped to run into him again and see him doing well and having his moment. Instead I found this digital obituary. While I was starting my business, graduating school and looking for work, he was watching his friends and family hold a memorial service for him.

It breaks my heart to see this. When we leave high school - when I leave high school - and find my classmates somewhere somewhen in the real world a part of me cheers when I see them reach milestones, survive grave illnesses, or see that they are still with us. And when I see that they don't, that suddenly they've just been snuffed out like a candle and they're no longer with us, a part of me dies with them. There's a part of me who started a journey together with all those my age, a naïve part of me with the expectations that birthdays and mother's day and graduation and retirement are a given until they aren't. It's always a cold reminder that the clock doesn't stop ticking for us at the same time just because it started at the same time. I hope he hadn't suffered much, and his happy moments far outweighed the unhappy moments; that he left us with a light heart, no regrets; that he found fulfilment somewhere. 

I didn't know you that well, but I always remembered you and I will take you with me. Take care, bro. ❤️

Today is 12/22/2021 has been two years mijo that God decided to take you into his arms. I never expected to loose you so fast , so soon. You were so full of life but I thank you for being my first son and what a blessing you were and are. You left written so many good things about your life your past and present . You loved the holidays ❤ just like me , I promise you I will keep celebrating the holidays as long as I live because I know you walk with me each step I take. I will always remember his handsome face and beautiful smile. My heart was broken when I found out that I would no longer run into him at my neighborhood Ralph’s. He truly had a shining light that radiated from within. I was truly blessed to have those brief interactions with him. May his beautiful, young soul rest in peace. 🙏💔

I didn't have the honor of knowing Randy as an adult; I knew him only as a teenager from middle through high school. But I came to say goodbye today because in some ways he still had an impact on my life. Through my distant memories of him, he will always be one of the brightest parts of any room he walked into. And I will never forget his positive energy and matching smile that always seemed to accompany him wherever he went. He was a genuinely good person. I know when someone so young dies, people usually want to know what happened. Because it's unnatural to die before your parents. But I will tell you that his death does not matter as much as his life did. Does. If, all these years later, the smile of a 16 year old kid can still impact someone who probably spoke all of ten words to him throughout our school career, I can't imagine what having the privilege of knowing him as a son, a brother, a friend, or even a coworker was like. That is his legacy. He was a beautiful soul and I know that he will be deeply missed by many. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.

I was introduced by Nathan back in November 2012 and been friends ever since. 

I will forever miss convincing you my business ideas and you roaming around with me on different adventures. Taking you to Laguna, Venice, and even to my office,  because I always seen something in you and wanted to motivate you to chase your dreams. You were always smart, witty, and most of all,  you  had a comedic mind that always made everyone laugh. 

I miss you my brother. I wish I can see you prosper and grow, but you will always be in my memories. Just know Nathan & I cared about you a lot. Rest In Peace Randy. Bless your soul my brother. You will be missed.

We’ve known each other since middle school and I’m thankful to call you my friend! I loved seeing you at Ralph’s catching up each week, you were always smiling and so willing to help! You always said hi to me, Cody, and I remember you meeting my son! This all happened so fast and I am still in shock. I miss you and you will always be loved and missed. My brooo, big dawg,  and ayye playboyy!! Those are just some of the names we had for each other. It has been just over 3 weeks since I have seen you and 3 weeks since I received a text that you were gone...

I hugged you when I saw you at Ralph's and noticed you shaved your long goatee, I liked the new look! We talked about linking up for the New Year, but also keeping it light (since hangovers are no joke now). The last thing we said was alright bro, hit me up! 

I found out  a week after I saw you, that you were gone.. I still cannot fathom the news...

We started Ralph's together in 2007, we were 16 years old! You wrestled at Poly and I was a soccer head at North. We would come into work after school, and I would always look for your name on the schedule, cause if we worked the same shift, I knew we would have a dope time! Broo you were the best, and so funny! After I left Ralphs, flash forward to my college days, boy you loved to have a good time! You would drive out to Cal State and party up with me!

Randy, I was in denial when I got that text saying you passed. Even though I called your phone and your mom picked up and told me, I still did not believe it and could not wrap my mind around it.  I actually drove down to Ralphs...  and said, "I am looking for Randy"...
 I wont forget the look your co worker gave me when she said " he is no longer with us"...I was crushed.
Rest easy and in peace my boy. You know I will never forget the times we have had and those memories will always make me smile.  Prayers go out to your sister, mom and family. You are such a happy, full spirited guy and I know you are looking down at all of us. Until we meet again, we love you, Randy! 

Randy.. as tough as this has been, I know God had bigger plans for you. I hope you’re at peace. Thank you for being such an exceptional friend to me & everyone else in our group. I miss your smile & contagious laugh. Although you are no longer physically with us, your spirit & memory will carry me through my hard days. Love you always xx. 

Randy was like a brother to me and he was a big influence in my life. He helped me choose my major in college to follow psychology. He shared with me he wanted to be a psychiatrist so thats why he wanted to learn about the mind and how to help people. We would apply to a bunch of hospitals for similar positions that we were under-qualified for, but did it for fun anyway (even lied on some and got some calls back lol). 

He would move in with me at that period and was more of a brother than roommate. He grew quickly with my other two biological brothers and could have a good time with any one of us. He would want to have fun, but he made the last few years I had with the home my mom left me a memorable experience. I wont forget the trips we had, the festivals we went to, and the art/ music we made; most notably the autotune songs you made and the grizzly murals on the couch. 

Really going to miss you man. You always had a pure soul and never brought any negative energy to any situation. 

Randy you were such an amazing person. You were the big brother I never had and I’m so blessed for the time I got to spend with you. Since I started Ralphs you always lifted up people,  you cared about everybody and would go out of your way to make sure they were okay and make sure they knew they had somebody on there side. I’ll forever miss our late night phone calls when we would talk for hours just talking about life and help each other out. Rest easy we all love and miss you. I’ll see you again someday❤️

What i remember of randy he was such a funny loving guy he was always making make everyone laugh. He was so outgoing. You will be missed deeply randy ,May you rest in peace. Now you are right next to grandpa watching over all your loved one. Until we meet again randy. We love you. 

In high school, Randy was always smiling and joking around.  His laughter, good attitude and overall positive outlook on life was contagious.  He was a happy guy who made other people happy and that’s how I’ll always remember him.  

I don’t think I can tell one single memory to encapsulate the person that was Randy.  Rather, the memory of Randy is much more how he was day to day as a great person.  Randy was always happy and when he walked into a room he was about making everyone else happy as well. I just wish there was something I could do to undo this tragedy. But this is life and I Hope from the lose of this great person we will all realize that life is precious and we need to cherish our loved ones. I love you Randy and can’t wait to see you again. 

Randy... sweet, funny, loved life, all around great guy who always had a great fishing or hunting story. 
He didn't care if he caught anything or brought down birds. He loved the great outdoors. Dude you see your family and friends grieving your loss. We all miss you! And wish we would've had another chance to tell you how much we love you! Rest in peace my friend.  Catching the big fish now. Until we meet again.


Randy you were the Outgoing funniest hard-working kind handsome driven guy I know I met you when you were 16 and to watch you grow into a wonderful man is amazing God has his hands on you abundantly and you will definitely be missed sleep with the Angels rest in paradise I will always love you little brother I remember all I remember all of my little kickbacks that you attended life of the party we will meet again I love you so much sending you hugs and kisses I love that when are used to buy me energy drinks or when I would give you some of my food at lunch we have tons of beautiful memories that I will cherish you will never be forgotten love always and forever honey bee
