RAY WILLIAM BEGA JUNE 25, 1927 - APRIL 6, 2012 Passed away peacefully at home at the age of 84. He was preceded in death by his wife Natalia Bega. He is survived by his seven children, Ray Bega Jr. (Sherry), Patsy Holguin (Victor), Fred Bega (Ruby), Pearl Salcida (Gordie), Johnny Bega, Alex Bega, Mary Bega (Francisco) along with 15 grandchildren, and 17 great- grand children. Born and lived in Corona all of his life, he worked for Pacific Clay and more recently retired from Sunkist Products. He served his country in the Navy during WWII. As a young man he was very well known and a baseball legend. He played for the Corona Athletics as well as many other baseball and softball teams throughout southern California. Later in life he enjoyed going to Glamis with his son Ray Bega Jr. and son-in-law Gordie Salcida. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 13th at 10:00 a.m. at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park and Cemetery, 11500 Arlington Ave. Riverside, with burial immediately following.
