

Mitch graduated from Hebert High School in 1964. During his high school years he was a star running back for 4 years. He was involved in track and field and was a very strong swimmer and worked as a lifeguard. He received numerous metals in diving and track and field as well during his teenage years.
Mitch joined the Air Force in 1969 during the Vietnam War. He served for 4 years. After the Air force he relocated to California where he met and married Virginia on February 19, 1972. Born and brought together to his union are three boys, Eric, Chauncey and Shaun.
Mitch loved to barbeque, camp, fish, bowl and watch western movies. His favorite was Gun Smoke. After retiring from the work force, he discovered that he had another talent, remodeling our home!
Mitch had a giant love for his family and friends. He was devoted to his wife, kids and grandkids. Most importantly is their walk with the Lord: "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth" 3 John 1:4.
Ray is survived by his wife of 39 years, Virginia; three sons, Eric and his wife Miyuki, Chauncey and his wife Tommie and their children, Kali, Daisia, Cordell and Maliyah, Shaun and his wife Maria and their children, Aniyah, Elijah and one unborn; his mother Helen; five sisters and two brothers, Betty and Leonard Kyle, Rose Johnson, Roy and Paula LaBrie, Sharon Hamilton, Ernest and Ethel LaBrie, Gloria and Paul Sloan, Marilyn and Gabriel Savior; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Ray went home to be with the Lord on April 6, 2011 at 5:55 p.m., holding the hands of his beloved wife - - - into the hands of the Lord.
Mitch, I miss you already; my spouse, my friend, my prayer partner...I'll love you forever!!!
