RICHARD M. GRABENDIKE Richard Martin Grabendike, 82, was born to Clarence A. and Winifred Salaway Grabendike on May 1, 1930 in Riverside, CA and passed away on April 28, 2013 in Seal Beach, CA. He was a 1948 graduate of Riverside Poly High School and went on to graduate from the Pacific Coast School of Banking at the University of Washington. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served for 16 months in Korea as a member of the 40th Infantry Division. His service to his country was always a milestone in his life. Upon returning from Korea, Richard began a lifelong career in banking. He began this endeavor at Citizens National Bank in Riverside as a Teller. CNB was acquired by Security Pacific National Bank and he was eventually named Manager of the new 14th St. Branch in Riverside. As his career continued to grow, Richard was promoted to Regional Vice President in 1971 and was moved to the bank's downtown headquarters in Los Angeles. As a result of this promotion, he and his family relocated to Seal Beach. He retired in 1984 having attained the title of Senior Vice President. In 1952 Richard married Edith "Tedie" Casseday and together they had 2 children, a son Michael and a daughter Sharon. In 1976 he married Judy Volosky and they enjoyed a lifetime of adventure traveling throughout the Pacific Northwest in their motor home, accompanied by their beloved poodle "Max." Richard is survived by his son Michael Grabendike and his children Courtney, Kristyn, Michael and Hannah, and by his daughter Sharon Engebrits, her husband Ernie and their children Toni, Joe and Nick and his wife Sara. A private burial service will be held at the Riverside National Cemetery, where he will receive full military honors.
