

Robert was born on December 17, 1941 to Leo and Anna Schwenderman in Boston, Massachusetts. After graduating Highschool he served his country under the military branch of the Army where he traveled throughout Europe. He was later based in Fort Hood, Texas. Upon his honorable discharge he married Marion Szolis and had three children. He is survived by his brother Peter Schwenderman and children Lisa Barthel, Renee Howard, and Robert Schwenderman. Robert’s grandchildren are Cory Lee Berman, Kelsie Nicole Lile, Sean Michael Howard, and Jessica Ann Tudor. His great grandchildren are Madeline Berman, Brody O’Neal Lile, and Colton Michael Lile.
Robert grew up in the city and as a young man dreamed of one day owning land. Early on he talked about investing in real estate when he was in high school while others just tried to get through school. He was a young man filled with dreams and aspirations. He was ahead of his time and with his determination and motivation he achieved his success early on investing in real estate. He worked hard and went back to school and received his associate degree in business.
Robert was an owner of various barber shops and worked the later years of his life as a Barber. He was well liked by many and was known as “Boston Bob.” Robert was known as a loyal, stand-up guy. He was energetic and had a humorous personality. He loved singing and spent some of his free time singing karaoke at his favorite restaurant “Tasters Wok” in Lynnwood, Washington. He loved singing Bobby Darin songs.
Robert dedicated his life caring for his son that took ill at age 21. He was a caregiver for over 28 years. It was last November that he took ill. He was having a difficult time with his illness and was relocated to Arizona this past June. It was shortly thereafter he was exposed to Covid-19.
Robert was a kind generous soul always helping those in need. He was known as a best friend to many. His oldest childhood friend was “Paul Sullivan.” They grew up together in Massachusetts and continued a life-long friendship. This is a testament of how dedicated of a friend he was. Roberts friends were like family and if you were his friend you were his friend for life.
Robert worked hard throughout his life to make sure before he passed away his family was taken care of. He was a kind loving person and a dedicated father. His friends and family will miss their weekly talks on the phone. Others within the community of Arlington, Washington will miss his visits at the local bank or insurance company.

Robert will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery on September 23, 2020 at 1:30pm, Staging area 7.
