

ROY ROUNTREE COWAN SEPTEMBER 7, 1930 - JULY 24, 2012 Roy passed away July 24, 2012 in Riverside at the home of his daughter after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 81. He was born September 7, 1930 in Dadeville, Missouri to Waldo and Leora Cowan, and had ten siblings. Roy grew up working on his family's farm and eventually started his own business hauling milk. He entered the Air Force and was stationed in England as a military police officer. There, he met his beautiful bride, Greta, a nurse from Vienna, Austria. After his military service, Roy and Greta started their life in Riverside. Roy worked for A.M. Lewis Trucking Company. In 1976, he obtained his real estate license and worked at Sam Armstrong Realty. Throughout the years, Roy sold real estate in Lake Havasu City and Palm Desert. Some of Roy's favorite pastimes included hunting, boating, off-roading, camping, playing basketball, and golfing. Many people would remember him for his patriotism and loyalty to all things made in the USA. Others will forever treasure the two dollar bills he loved to pass out. Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Greta. He is survived by his children, Linda Lane (Greg) of Riverside, Michael Cowan (Tricia) of Lake Havasu City, AZ, and Debbie Clabaugh (Matt) of Newport Coast. He had six grandchildren, Brian, Kristin, Brandon, Jessica, Bryce, and Angeline; and one great grandchild, Karsyn. A celebration of Roy's life will be held on Friday, August 3rd, at 3 PM at Acheson and Graham Garden of Prayer, 7944 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside, CA 92504.
