She was born in Tennessee to Sperry Walton and Annie Pearl Maxwell. She lived in Ontario, California for most of her life and graduated from Chaffey High School in 1958.
Maxine devoted over 50 years to research and marketing at Armstrong Nurseries and Weeks Roses, where she was celebrated for her exceptional gift in naming roses. She even had one named after her, Ruby Ruby. Her passion for travel led her to explore diverse cultures and breathtaking landscapes around the world. Known for her warmth and kindness, she had a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life, engaging in heartfelt conversations wherever she went.
She is survived by her children, Traci Newton (Greg), Shari Tanguay (Robyn), Jim Gilliam (Lillian), her granddaughters Kelli (Tim) Anderson and Lilli Tanguay, and her brother Dannie Maxwell. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, James, Sperry and Larry Maxwell. A graveside service will be held on September 16th at 10:00am at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park in Riverside, California.
